Be Part of Acton Methodist’s 130th Anniversary Celebration!

On October 29, 2029, Acton Methodist Church will celebrate 130 years of God’s faithfulness! As we prepare for this historic milestone, we are beginning to build the teams that will help make our year-long 130th Anniversary Celebration a meaningful time of remembering our past, celebrating what God is doing today, and looking with faith toward the future.

And we need you!

There are many different ways to serve, so whether you love history, prayer, worship, hospitality, decorating, organizing, communicating, or simply helping wherever needed, there is a place for you.

Prayer Team

Help provide the spiritual foundation for everything we do. This team will pray for God’s direction throughout the planning process, for unity and spiritual renewal in our church, for those who will hear the Gospel through our anniversary events, and above all, that Jesus will be glorified in every part of the celebration.

Historical Research Team

Love history, old photographs, or discovering great stories? This team will dig into church minutes, photographs, old bulletins, newspaper articles, historical records, and interviews with longtime members to uncover 52 significant moments from Acton Methodist’s history. These stories will be shared throughout 2029 and featured on our 130th Anniversary Heritage Wall.

Worship & Programming Team

Help plan the special worship experiences that will take place throughout the anniversary year, including our Fifth Sunday services and the major anniversary

celebrations in October. This team will help with music guests, guest speakers, special presentations, historical elements, and worship service planning.

Hospitality Team

If making people feel welcome is your gift, we need you! This team will help care for our special guests and congregation through accommodations, meals, receptions, volunteer hospitality, and anniversary fellowship events.

Community Engagement Team

Help us reach beyond our walls! This team will connect with former members and pastors, civic leaders, community organizations, and our neighbors as we invite the greater Granbury community to celebrate with us.

Communications & Marketing Team

Calling our creative people! This team will help tell the story of the anniversary through branding, promotional materials, social media, the website, publications, and other communications throughout the celebration year.

Facilities & Logistics Team

Are you someone who likes making things happen behind the scenes? This team will help with decorations, stage design, parking, seating, audio/visual needs, volunteer coordination, and the many practical details necessary to make our events successful.

There’s a Place for You!

Our 130th Anniversary will be much more than a celebration of our past. Our prayer is that it will honor God’s faithfulness, strengthen our church, reach our community with the Gospel, and help prepare Acton Methodist for the generations still to come.
